Meet Dr Heiger

Dr. Jennifer Heiger is a naturopathic physician and the owner of Reine Medicine, where she specializes in women’s health. She is licensed in California and Washington State.

In practice since 2010, Dr. Heiger was a naturopathic physician at Private Medical, a concierge practice focused on highly customized care, in its Los Angeles and Silicon Valley offices. Prior to that, Dr. Heiger practiced in an integrative private clinic, which specialized in allergy, immunology, environmental exposure, and autoimmune conditions. Dr. Heiger started her naturopathic career at Key Compounding Pharmacy as a consultant on bio-identical hormones.

Dr. Heiger received her doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from Bastyr University in Washington State in 2010. She graduated with a bachelors degree from Salisbury University in biology, chemistry, and psychology in 2002.

FAQ

1/ What types of conditions are treated at Reine Medicine?

Reine Medicine is women-centric and treats a wide variety of conditions including, but not limited to, Menopause, Perimenopause, Uterine Fibroids, PCOS, Endometriosis, PMS, PMDD, Irregular Cycle, Thyroid Disorders, Fatigue, Low Libido, Depression, Anxiety, Weight Changes, Autoimmune Conditions, Digestive Disturbances, and Sleep Issues.

2/ Does Dr. Heiger accept insurance?

No. We do provide the patient with an invoice to submit to their insurance company for possible reimbursement. Please check with your insurance company prior to your visit to see if you have naturopathic coverage.

3/ Do you offer bio-identical hormone therapy?

Yes. Hormone therapy can be very beneficial and often life-changing. The woman’s body is multifaceted and so beautifully unique—sometimes our bodies require more than the replacement of hormones. Depending on where you are on your health journey and what’s realistic for your life, we’ll decide together how bio-identical hormones may be right for you.

The bio-identical hormones are prescribed in an organic oil base with no harmful solvents.

Dr. Heiger has trained with Daved Rosensweet, MD and completed the Menopause Method course. She continues to be an active member of the Menopause Method and is on the medical advisory board for the Institute of BioIdentical Medicine (IOBIM).

4/ Do you test hormone levels?

Yes. Dr. Heiger prefers urine hormone testing, but it’s not always the first thing we do before initiating hormone therapy. If you are perimenopausal, hormone levels are erratic and can greatly fluctuate. This makes it difficult to test and get an accurate measurement of your hormone levels. If you are postmenopausal, we can guarantee hormone levels are low. In this case we may decide to treat first, improve how your feel, and then later test levels to make sure you are metabolizing hormones properly and levels are within the optimal ranges.

5/ Is there an option for in-person visits?

Yes. Residents of Bainbridge Island have the option of seeing Dr. Heiger in-person at the Dayaalu Center. Telemedicine appointments are available for all patients.
